DescriptionThe KYO gives young musicians in the Kawartha Region the opportunity to learn symphonic music and perform in an orchestral ensemble. Members benefit from an advanced level of instruction and a quality orchestral experience in Peterborough while enjoying the camaraderie of other young people. Music Director is Michael Newnham. Professional instrumental coaches also provided. Supports the educational work of teachers in school programs and private teaching practices by giving students an opportunity to extend their musical knowledge, performance and leadership skills in an orchestral ensemble.
