| Description | Services are provided to children and their families from pregnancy to Grade One. A full range of early-intervention programs provide support in all areas of development. A Bright Place to Start Program: peer support groups in Port Hope, Cobourg, Brighton and Campbellford provide information and free food and vitamins for pregnant women. Parents of young children who require support due to their social/economic situation are eligible for participation. Infant/Child Development Program: service to families of children who are at risk of developmental delay due to established biological and psychosocial factors. Infant/Child Development Programs: service (assessment, treatment through Individual Family Service Plan Programming) to families of children experiencing delay/difficulty in any area of development. Services include support in home, school and child care, Behaviour Management/Play Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology. Enhanced Staffing Support Funds provided to licensed Child Care Providers to support inclusion of children. Milk for Moms helps promote nutrition for young children and pregnant women. Services are provided in Northumberland County. |
