| Description (Service) | Creative Economy Department consisting of the culture branch and the entrepreneurship & business innovation team: * delivers key aspects of the Invest Barrie strategy pertaining to the strategic goals of economic diversification and resiliency * cultivates a supportive environment and engages in initiatives contributing to the growth of a broad creative economy * engages businesses and entrepreneurs, while building a strongly connected ecosystem of partners and stakeholders for long term sustainability of initiatives * works with stakeholders to plan, develop and manage key infrastructure assets in support of the downtown creative hub, talent strategies, tourism and provides input into growth planning * supports the collection and aggregation of data and associated analytics that enables the City of Barrie to measure the growth and development of the creative industry sectors and communities For information about Festivals and Events in Barrie contact the Special Events Office at 705-739-4285 or by email at events@barrie.ca |
