Description (Service) Residents of the County of Haliburton and Kawartha Lakes are able to access housing and homelessness services through the Kawartha Lakes & Haliburton Housing Help.  
Help to Maintain Housing 
Residents who are in need of assistance in order to avoid eviction or the loss of their home should contact the Housing Help Centre to obtain support and assistance with the following: 
• Assistance with utility arrears 
• Assistance with rental arrears 
• Assistance with mortgage arrears 
• Assistance with emergency home repairs 
• Access to the Kawartha-Haliburton Renovates program  
• Assistance with property tax arrears 
Help to Find Housing 
• Financially Assisted Housing  
• Homeownership program  
• Private Landlord Rental Listings

The City of Kawartha Lakes and the Kawartha Lakes-Haliburton Housing Hep does NOT endorse private landlord listings and any other posted information. We encourage ALL Housing seekers to research rental units before applying for any Housing. 
• Funding to assist with utility/energy deposits 
• Funding for last month’s rent  
Help with Financial Assistance 
Low income residents including those receiving social assistance (OW or ODSP) can receive support at Housing Help to obtain the following benefits: 
• Assistance to apply for Ontario Works 
• Access to Shelter Fund benefits for such as moving costs, furniture purchase etc.  
Help for Private Landlords 
Housing Help connects housing seekers to appropriate housing. Landlords wishing to advertise a vacant unit at our offices may do so by entering the following information (units will only be advertised for two weeks).  
Help with Support Services 
Numerous support services are offered through the Housing Help. Housing Help staff can also help connect you to the appropriate support agency. Below is a list of just some of the support services available through the Housing Help: 
• Identification replacement  
• Benefit information resource 
• Money management programs 
• Referrals to and connections with support services 
• Ongoing support and outreach
