Description (Service) The Salvation Army Collingwood Community Services provides: 
* temporary food assistance and emergency housing 
* offer emotional and spiritual care and support during times of crisis 
* budget counselling 
* advocacy 
* referral services 
* Christmas Hamper & Toy Program 
 
Does not provide court assistance * Works with and alongside Barrie Correctional Program and other social service agencies in the community

Public Comments TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOUSING (FAMILIES)  
The Salvation Army is funded by the County of Simcoe to operate a Temporary Emergency Housing program for Families called the Motel Voucher Program * Clients may receive short-term housing through this program * Clients will be required to work with case workers to find long term solutions to their housing issues

After hours contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 for assistance 
 
EMERGENCY HOUSING PROCEDURES (SINGLES & COUPLES): 
* During winter months (Nov 15-Apr 15) - overnight accommodation available through the Out Of The Cold shelter (250 Peel St, Unit B, Collingwood) which is open for intake between 7 pm-9 pm * After 9 pm guests will be admitted when accompanied by an OPP officer * Visit a local OPP office or call the OPP non-emergency line 1-888-310-1122 to request assistance for shelter access  
* From April 16-Nov 14 - After office hours to access emergency motel voucher service visit a local OPP office or call the OPP non-emergency line 1-888-310-1122 to request emergency shelter services and arrangements with a motel * Client will be required to register with the Salvation Army the next business day 
* Female callers should call My Friend's house women's shelter (705-444-2511) to see if there is an available bed 
* Police May transport client to shelter or motel if resources are available
