Service: Vulnerable Person Registry

Description (Service) Voluntary service allows a family member and/or caregivers of vulnerable persons to submit critical information to the OPP detachment that may be used during an emergency situation. 
A Vulnerable Person may include but is not limited to: 
* a person who due to a medical, mental health or physical condition, may exhibit patterns of behaviour that may pose a danger to themselves or to others 
* a person with an inclination to wander, the inability to communicate, fascinations or attractions (water, construction sites, etc.) and social responses (fear of strangers, aggression) 
* a person with Alzheimer’s disease, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Acquired Brain Injury or a mental condition that causes a person to exhibit the above behaviours 
Information required for registration includes: 
* name and address 
* date of birth 
* contact information 
* recent photograph of the individual (optional) 
* physician's name 
* medical condition, special needs 
* de-escalation techniques 
* tendencies/routines 
* objects of attraction 
* registry information is updated annually
