Description
Description (Service) Provides financial and employment assistance to people in need * beneficiaries able to work must participate full-time in suitable employment support activities including volunteer work. 
 
Financial support may be available for adults who are caring for a child who is not their own and experiencing a financial burden due to the added responsibility.  
 
Welfare Fraud Hotline: to report allegations of fraudulent collection of Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program assistance  
 
Interactive Voice Response (IVR): automated information and payment details, payment history, file status * information and announcements about Ontario Works * Individuals receiving Ontario Works will be provided an ID number and PIN * service not available to TTY users
Service Details
Public Comments Due to a potential Canada Post strike, October Ontario Works benefits cheques will not be mailed. 
 
Cheques will be available for pick up daily, Mon-Fri: 
 
Alliston 3 pm-4:30 pm (39 Victoria St E, Alliston) 
Barrie 2 pm-4:30 pm (136 Bayfield St, 4th floor, Barrie) 
Collingwood 3 pm-4:30 pm (186 Hurontario St, Unit 1, Collingwood) 
Midhurst 3 pm-4:30 pm (Ontario Works Main Administration, 1110 Hwy 26 W, Midhurst) 
Midland 2 pm-4:30 pm (230 Aberdeen Blvd, Unit 1, Midland) 
Orillia 2 pm-4:30 pm (50 Andrew St S, 2nd floor, Orillia) 
 
If your local office is Bradford (95 Holland St W, Unit 5) or Angus (199 Mill St), contact your caseworker for more information. 
 
ID will be required to pick up cheques. 
 
Direct Bank Deposits will not be affected. Direct bank deposit statements, income statements and client letters will be mailed once standard operations resume.

Simcoe County residents * Eligibility depends on assets and income * Students 16-18 years, attending school but not living at home must meet special circumstances to be approved for assistance.
