| Description (Service) | Organization works to provide affordable home ownership opportunities for low-income families. Work with community partners to build affordable houses and provide interest-free mortgages to families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home. ReStores located throughout the region and managed by local chapter staff and volunteer. They accept and sell new and gently used donations of building materials, furnishings and home decor. Sales of merchandise help to cover local administrative costs and support the building of homes in the the various communities |

| Public Comments | On September 1 2014, Habitat for Humanity affiliates from Orillia Lake Country, North Simcoe, Muskoka, North Bay and Sudbury District legally amalgamated and formed a new region under the title Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North. The regionalization centralized administrative resources out of the Bracebridge office. Donor wishes are respected in keeping donations in specified communities for home builds. |

| Eligibility | The three criteria to qualify for a Habitat home are (1) need for affordable housing, (2) ability to repay a Habitat mortgage and (3) willingness to partner with Habitat.
