Virtual and in-person services are available.

Regular Service
Communication support groups for adults with aphasia (speech problems) after stroke, head injury, or brain disease

Services include:

  • Communication Assessment (new clients)
  • New electives to choose from every three months
  • Communication disorders professionals (registered Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants) who follow the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia
  • Opportunities to practice and maintain communication skills through real-life conversation with people who know what you're going through
  • An aphasia-friendly communication environment
  • Unlimited programming (depending on space)
  • Information, education, and community resources
This is an Out-of-Home service

Service Details

Hours Meetings: weekly on Thu at 10 am - 11:30 am (online) and 2 pm - 3:30 pm (in-person)
Areas Served Peterborough (County of)
Eligibility Adults 18 years of age or older who live with aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria or  
cognitive communication disabilities due to a stroke, brain injury or brain illness.
