Description (Service) COVID19 Programming is currently virtual.


Regular Service
Communication support groups for adults with aphasia (speech problems) after stroke, head injury, or brain disease

Services include:
  • Communication Assessment (new clients)
  • New electives to choose from every three months
  • Communication disorders professionals (registered Speech-Language Pathologists and Communicative Disorders Assistants) who follow the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia
  • Opportunities to practice and maintain communication skills through real-life conversation with people who know what you're going through
  • An aphasia-friendly communication environment
  • Unlimited programming (depending on space)
  • Information, education, and community resources

Service Details

Hours Meeting: Thu 9:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-3 pm
Areas Served Peterborough (County of)
Eligibility People age 19 or older who have aphasia or other acquired communication disorder due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, or brain disease.  
Assessment required.
