Description (Service) * A campus-based, community-oriented, non-profit organization committed to research, education, and action on social justice and environmental issues. 
* Organizes speakers, films, conferences, publications and campaigns on a variety of topics. 
* Offers skills development workshops and research-for-credit opportunities. 
* Working groups include Canadians for Mining Awareness, Trent Amnesty International, and Safe and Green Energy (SAGE).  
* Develops programming, allocates resources, and networks with other campus and community organizations. 
* Operates a Free Market at Sadleir House where anyone can come in to select or drop-off household goods and clothing - absolutely free.  
* Green Dishes is a waste-reduction project designed to eliminate the need for disposable dishes at community events in Peterborough. This creative and unique non-profit dish-lending program enables organizations to borrow large quantities of reusable dishes for community events. A small fee and deposit are required for borrowing.  
* Volunteers are always needed as Board members or volunteers for the Food Cupboard, Free Market, and working groups. 
* Operates the OPIRG Food Cupboard at Sadleir House, offering free food to students and community members in cooperation with Kawartha Food Share.  
**NB: Last day of operation for Food Cupboard is October 16th.
