Description (Service) | Home visiting program provides free support, information and education for pregnant women and families with children from birth to school entry. Services include: * prenatal education and help for pregnant women to get ready for their new baby * telephone call to all new mothers from a public health nurse after mother's discharge from hospital * if needed, a follow-up home visit from a public health nurse to answer questions about breastfeeding, taking care of baby, being a parent, postpartum mood disorders, childhood growth and development and community programs * ongoing home visiting from a public health nurse and family home visitor to families who could benefit from additional support |
