Description (Service) Very active grass-roots organization dedicated to reducing human dependence on fossil fuels and localizing the economy to create a more vital and resilient community in the face of climate change, resource depletion, and economic contraction. Offers educational and informational opportunities to the general public. Encourages citizen participation. Founded Kawartha Loon local currency through Peterborough Community Credit Union, a fully monetized local currency.
