Description

Description (Service) Provides harm reduction supplies to people who use injection and inhalation drugs in order to reduce the risk of HIV transmission and other blood-borne infections.

Supports individuals as they attempt to make informed decisions about their use and remain as safe as possible while respecting a person's right to continue to use while providing options, support and resources to minimize the negative consequences or harm that may result.

Provides a non-judgemental service delivery which means meeting individuals where they are at in their decision.

Ensures access to a variety of harm reduction program delivery models, including:
  • safer injection equipment such as sterile syringes, VitC, cookers, sterile water, alcohol swabs and tourniquets or ties
  • safer inhalation equipment such as glass stems, push sticks aka chop sticks, screens, mouth piece tubing
  • variety of exchanges locations throughout the four county area
  • other evidence-informed harm reduction strategies in response to local surveillance
Follows the Four Pillars Approach and is actively engaged with two local drug strategies:Volunteer opportunities available.
