Description
Description (Service) As part of the Health Unit's Environmental Health program, Public Health Inspectors work to protect members of the community in various settings.  
 
* inspects food premises and helps train kitchen staff on safe food handling practices 
* inspects daycare and personal service sites 
* provides information about water quality results and the maintenance of wells 
* tests the water of area beaches for safety 
* investigates animal bite incidents for potential exposure to rabies and provides information and education on the need to ensure pets are vaccinated against rabies 
* provides information about protecting yourself against West Nile Virus and Lyme Disease
