Description

Description (Service) Museum features a collection of ~ 45,000 artifacts, archives of thousands of letters, maps, business records, and diaries suitable for academic and genealogical research, and one of the largest and most significant photographic collections in Canada
  • permanent exhibitions highlight First Nations peoples, the arrival of European immigrants to Peterborough with special emphasis on the Peter Robinson immigration of 1825 and the growth of Peterborough from a town to a city
  • offers themed temporary exhibits from the museum's own collections, exhibits from local groups and organizations and travelling exhibitions from other museums
  • education services include interactive learning opportunities for all levels from grade one to university. School programs are designed to build knowledge and skills with plenty of interaction, experimentation, analysis, hypothesis and interpretation
  • hosts Bringing TIFF to You
